My journey
My three beauties

Birth Story , published in Mothering Magazine
in 2000.
It all began in 1988.  I wanted not to have a "needle in my back".  After much reading, I realized that fear causes pain and  could be eliminated by becoming knowledgeable, practicing relaxation and meditation and by enjoying this miraculous process. .

My birth was just as I had hoped.  It lasted 12 hours, was easy and exciting, all natural and joyful.
Almost three years later the same skills worked  again.  This birth lasted three hours.  Using the power of my mind, I believe I orchestrated  many factors such as having my busy husband get there easily and having my eldest get to her grandparents in time for dinner.
I birthed from 4pm - 7pm.  It couldn't have been more perfect.
I always wanted to stay home with my children as I knew that our time together would go by quickly.   I will always be grateful to those who supported me in doing that.  While at home, I wanted to keep a hand in my work so that I could return someday.  With a B.A. in Education and a M.A. in Higher Education  Administration,  I was able to teach parenting classes & run support groups for new moms through Waterbury Youth Services Systems,
I was fortunate enough to do this for almost 10 years.  In 2002, I revisited an interest in  Hypnosis.  I came across HypnoBirthing training and felt that it was a natural fit.  Opening my business, Clear Concepts, LLC shortly after,  helped focus my efforts.

In the fall of 2005, I was hired as a consultant by Yale New Haven Hospital to teach HypnoBirthing there.  Vera and Peggy have done an amazing job of encouraging  women to sign up for the class.  Of my over 60 couples  to date,  half have been through Yale.
I love what I'm doing and look forward to continuing to share this work with pregnant  women and their families.  It is my hope that more women will know all of their options and make the right choice for themselves based on  accurate information.
